Was Paris Hilton on to something?

I was on a run when…

*Wait, hold up. I understand how annoying that sentence makes me sound. No, I am not one of those people who begin all there stories like “I was on my way to the gym when” or try to shove their strange green juice down your throat. However, considering that

a) I was actually on a run

and

b) this is my blog

I will, for the purpose of the story, start it like this.*

…I saw the most amazing thing. As I am a procrastinator by nature, I hadn’t gone out to run until 4:30 in the afternoon. And because mother nature loves to depress us all, the sun had already began to set.

I was running along, huffing and puffing you know how it goes, when I decided to look up . To my surprise, the sky had completely become a brilliant shade of cotton-candy-pink. This wouldn’t have been such a big deal if the sky hadn’t been met with the deep fall hues the leaves of the trees are this time of year. Dark maroons, Olive greens, mustard yellows all harmonized with the sky in such a way that it made me stop my run immediately.

As I am a 15 year old girl living in America, my first instinct was to reach for my phone and Instagram that sunset as fast as my fingers could. However, because I use running as a form of escape ( I know, another vexatious statement, I’m sorry), I run with out my phone. Therefore, stuck patting my empty pockets, I was unable to succumb to my cliche urges and failed to document the sunset.

The second thing that came to my mind was, of course, fashion.

Just think about it, pink with fall colors! Or maybe pink as a fall color! Pink can be soft and it can be loud. Its girly yet it is the “color of real men.”Why had this never never occurred to me before?

I needed to share my idea with the rest of the world. The second I got home I reached for my phone to call Anna and have her print “Pink for Fall” in the next issue of vogue.

But then I realized that I don’t know Anna Wintour, let alone have her number. I decided the best I could do to share my idea would be to,well, wear it…

I decided to pair a pink skirt that I had bought for spring with my grandma’s old maroon embellished jacket. Because the light pink and the deep maroon contrasted in hue but correlated in warmth they created a symbiotic type of relationship. I paired the two with a basic white t-shirt and basic white sneakers to dress the look down.

However, while this is all nice now, fall is beginning to fade. The question is, will pink fade with it?

Need I say Paris Hilton was actually right about something and pink is the new year round color?

What do you think about pink?

I’m sorry about that last line, I couldn’t resist.

Until next time xx
